The ISU Athletic Department is maintaining this mark, but has refreshed the colors used. The navy has been replaced by the new Cyclone Cardinal Shade (Pantone 202). The body, (previously Pantone 200) should be Cyclone Cardinal (Pantone 187). The gold highlights and beak should be the new Cyclone Gold (Pantone 123) and the teeth and eye remain white.
Can departments order staff apparel or other items with the new identity?
At this time, the nameplate and 150th logo are the only options for use by departments when ordering employee apparel. To view options for departments, please visit http://www.marketing.iastate.edu/identity/apparel/apparel/. Departmental merchandise will no longer be approved with the current athletic wordmark (previously option 3).
Can student organizations order apparel or other items with the new identity?
The new identity may be used by student organizations. It may not be altered and the organization name must be included in the design. It must be clear in the design that the group is a campus organization, that may mean adding something like club or student chapter.
What notice is correct for the new identity?
Please use a TM with the new primary mark on all products. This will eventually change to ® for some items when we receive federal registrations in certain product classes. The secondary mark and word marks Iowa State and Cyclones still require a ® on apparel.
What happens to other Iowa State marks?
This change only affects the identity of Iowa State Athletics. The nameplates, seal, and vintage collection remain unchanged.
What else is different for 2008? Why the change?
